A Collaborative Approach

At Clarity Equine, we believe in a team-based approach to wellness. These sessions are co-facilitated by Caitlin Heckbert (Equine Specialist) and the licensed mental health professionals at In Good Time Wellness Collective. Together, we ensure a safe, trauma-informed space where the horse’s intuition meets clinical expertise.

How It Works

  • Ground-Based: No riding is involved, this allows the horse to respond naturally to your energy and body language.

  • The Horse as a Mirror: Horses are prey animals; they are highly sensitive to human emotions. They provide immediate, non-judgmental feedback that helps us process feelings we might not be able to put into words.

  • Trauma-Informed: We move at your pace. There is no pressure to perform—only space to be present.

WHO THIS MAY SUPPORT

Psychotherapy may be supportive for individuals experiencing

• Anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm
• Trauma or nervous system dysregulation
• Burnout, grief, or major life transitions
• Difficulty with boundaries, trust, or self-confidence
• A desire for a therapy approach that goes beyond words

Sessions are available for youth, teens, and adults, depending on therapeutic goals.

How A Sessions Looks?

We provide a safe, collaborative environment where the horse’s intuition meets professional clinical support.

1. Professional Collaboration
You are never alone in this process. Every session is co-facilitated by two experts:

  • A Registered Mental Health Professional from In Good Time Wellness Collective.

  • A Trained Equine Specialist from Clarity Equine. This "team" approach ensures your emotional and physical safety are always the priority.

2. Ground-Based Interaction
Healing happens eye-to-eye. All activities take place on the ground—no riding is involved. By interacting with the horse this way, you can observe their honest reactions to your energy, body language, and emotions in real-time.

3. Reflection & Integration
The session doesn't end in the arena. Our team helps you process the experience through guided reflection. We translate your time with the horse into meaningful insights, helping you develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and new tools for your everyday life.

Why Horses?

Horses offer a unique therapeutic experience that you simply cannot get in a traditional office. Here are three reasons they are such powerful partners in healing:

They are Living Mirrors

As prey animals, horses are highly tuned into their environment. They don't listen to what you say; they react to your body language and energy. If you are anxious, the horse will notice. This provides immediate, honest feedback that helps you see your own internal state more clearly.

They are Non-Judgmental

A horse doesn't care about your past, your mistakes, or your social status. They live entirely in the present moment. This creates a safe, "ego-free" space where you can be your authentic self without the fear of being analyzed or judged.

They Require Authentic Connection

You cannot "fake it" with a horse. To lead or partner with a 1,000lb animal, you must be clear, calm, and present. Working with them helps you practice healthy boundaries, assertiveness, and emotional regulation in a way that feels real and rewarding.
